Time & Location

Sep 23, 2022, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Lewis & Clark Tap Room, 1535 Dodge Ave, Helena, MT 59601, USA

About the Event

In this workshop, you will learn how to create a beautiful, long-lasting pumpkin succulent planter. Your experience will include a (real) 6-7 lb. "Cinderella" or "Ghost" pumpkin, a variety of succulents, soil, preserved moss, and step-by-step instruction. We will discuss best practices for succulent care and maintenance; soil, sun requirements, grooming, watering, and propagation for healthy plants.

Please note these pumpkins are not carved so your centerpiece will last for many months! We also will not be using glue on the succulents so no plants will be harmed during this workshop.

After your planter is complete, we will also show you how to properly transfer the succulents into a more permanent container for you to enjoy for years to come!

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). Each year ACS CAN has its signature Lights of Hope fundraiser, dedicated to honoring those who have been touched by cancer and remembering those lost. This year is the 12th anniversary of Lights of Hope. With help from volunteers across the country, ACS CAN collects more than 55,000 Lights of Hope in 2022. Each Light of Hope represents a loved one’s cancer story—a survivor, someone in treatment, someone who passed from cancer, or someone who served as a caregiver. Lights of Hope enable ACS CAN to continue its mission to make fighting cancer a national priority with lawmakers in Washington, D.C. ACS CAN makes cancer a top priority for public officials and candidates at the federal, state, and local levels. ACS CAN empowers advocates across the country to make their voices heard and influence evidence-based public policy change as well as legislative and regulatory solutions that will reduce the cancer burden. As the American Cancer Society’s nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate, ACS CAN is critical to the fight for a world without cancer.
